Organised life
My friends always say I'm the most organized person they know. I always try to persuade them to become more organized. Sometimes successful and sometimes less so.
I have been trying to stay organized since I was young. This used to start with a physical agenda booklet from Cars, but that has now expanded into a whole system of agendas, tools and applications that I use to organize my entire life. Now I want to persuade you to work more on your organization. (sorry not sorry if you receive this link from me)
Why would you want to organize your life? It is not an obligation of course, on the contrary it is fair to yourself, it reduces stress and makes it easier to find.
TODO
It's always best to start with the tasks you need to do, don't make them as big as "develop ... project" but split them up like "setting up structure", "Form module", "CTA module". You may be wondering what modules are, then read Atomic Design. I put everything in 1 app called Things, but that is certainly not what you have to use. The most important thing when using a TODO app is that you have a deadline and when, and above all, that you stick to it. Don't cheat yourself, no one can stop you but yourself!
Calender
How do you plan then? Well, straight into your agenda, of course. If you are going to do something later in the future, you can do it today, tomorrow or in 5 months, put it in your agenda! This way you hardly have any duplicate plans. I may be extreme about this, such as train times or drop-off times, but it does keep me on the right path.
You can now also see how I split it up, I have my main agenda (blue) but I also have a special agenda for work, train times, school and Formula 1 (which is added automatically). So I also have events like F1 in it, as soon as I am a fan of something, I always try to follow it. That is why it is included.
Notion
This is how I organize with friends, I have ideas to share such as Pinterest photos that are inspiration for my home or I plan F1 no. 10 with friends. I always do this via Notion, you can also do this for school or your company. It is a very simple app in the beginning but can be expanded and customized as you want. I have all my watched films, with a rating and how many times I have watched it. Another page with my wishes and what I want to buy. Also a page to digitize my writing book about which I write about code or my cassette player.
Folders
How can you find your documents? I think this is the most popular of all and one that almost everyone uses. Still, for the people who don't do it, how do you not lose documents? With a clear name and structure. Here I have some examples of folder structure that you can do
- Work > Projects > {project name} > {design/code}
- Work > General > {evenement}
- School > {Middle/High} > {year} > {class} > {1. task1}
